I always recommend newcomers consider buying Elite Trainer Boxes. Reason being, ETBs are easy to find, have consistently performed well over multiple eras, and are very liquid compared to other sealed products.
So today, I will give you some options that you can buy right now that are in contention for the top Elite Trainer Box investment of March 2026.
Ascended Heroes
Hear me out. Yes, I know Ascended Heroes is a new set. However, I believe that Ascended is a GREAT Elite Trainer Box investment.
Currently, we are sitting around $108 per ETB on TCGPlayer which makes sense consider how deep the set is. Ascended Heroes contains a Gengar SIR, two Pikachu SIRs, Gold Charizard and Dragonite cards, a Mega Dragonite SIR, and multiple other desirable chases.
I believe Ascended Heroes is going to get the Prismatic Evolutions treatment. Pokemon will likely print it heavily this year. If this happens, it will give us a GREAT opportunity to build our positions in this Elite Trainer Box investment.
The other thing to note: Sealed ETB cases are cheap right now.
Around April of last year, we already started to see the Prismatic Evolutions ETB cases pull away from the price of ten loose ETBs. If you value having a position in sealed ETB cases, now is the time to buy Ascended Heroes, with the expectation you will DCA over the next year.

White Flare
White Flare is going to be a great Elite Trainer Box investment. Although it is overshadowed by Black Bolt, the set still has an incredibly strong top 10 value, meaning there are multiple desirable chase cards. Some of these cards include a red Victini BWR, Reshiram EX BWR, and Reshiram EX SIR.
The ETB has seen a massive reduction in supply on the open market over the past three months. With Prismatic now pushing $200 an ETB, White Flare is becoming a much more attractive Elite Trainer Box investment. These ETBs are rapidly approaching $90 and I would not be surprised if they push through that and continue towards $100.

Black Bolt
I believe Black Bolt is a great Elite Trainer Box investment. The set is much deeper than people realize. You have multiple cards over $350 currently with the Victini and Zekrom EX monochrome cards. The Zekrom SIR is also holding strong around $200 USD rounding out the top 3 chase cards.
Black Bolt also has one of the most expensive illustration rare cards from the Scarlet & Violet era, the Seismitoad.
Black Bolt ETBs are currently $98 USD on TCGPlayer.
Considering a lot of strong specialty sets like 151, Paldean Fates, and Crown Zenith are all pushing $300+ for an ETB, I expect Black Bolt to reach the same levels after moving out of print in a couple of years.
