A Pokemon booster box investment can be a profitable purchase, but it requires that you pick the right set at the right time and price. So today, we are going to cover 5 of the best Pokemon booster box investments to purchase right now (June 2025).
1: Surging Sparks
A Pokemon booster box investment that has been catching my eye as of late is Surging Sparks which has pulled back post reprint.
Surging Sparks was nearing $270 per box before the reprint came. When more supply hit the market, it retraced back to around $210. The set is still young and will likely be reprinted again. However, it still is one of the deepest sets in the era with the 2nd most expensive chase card from SV era booster boxes, the Pikachu EX.
Currently, almost every booster box in the SV era is above $200. This makes top-tier sets like Surging Sparks attractive at only a 20% increase from the average box. As the years go on, I expect that this gap will grow. Surging Sparks will more than likely outperform boxes like Obsidian Flames, Paradox Rift, and Temporal Forces.

2: Twilight Masquerade
There is no secret Twilight Masquerade is one of the best Pokemon booster box investments from the SV era. The box features one of the best chase cards from the era, the Greninja EX.
This is another box that pulled back off its high, but has rebounded back into the $250 range. Twilight has the third highest top-10 card value out of all SV era booster boxes. This puts it well above the median. I believe it will outperform many of the other boxes from its era.

3: Journey Together (Enhanced Booster Box)
Journey Together is not a great set. I do not think the regular booster box is one of the best Pokemon booster box investments. That said, it is the first set in over a decade to receive a box-topper. We do not know whether this promo card will be featured in future reprints of the box, potentially making these Enhanced booster boxes one of the best investments from the era.
I do not think you should invest all of your money into Journey Together boxes, but it’s worth having some exposure to the set.

4: Lost Origin
Lost Origin will always be one of the best Pokemon booster box investments. Released during the SWSH era, the set features the Giratina V alternate art that was illustrated by Shinji Kanda, one of Pokemon’s most infamous artists.
The set also features popular Pokemon including Pikachu and Aerodactyl. We still see a decent amount of Lost Origin booster boxes on the market. The downside to this is that the box is unlikely to move up in the short-term. The upside is that it’s still relatively inexpensive compared to a set like Fusion Strike.

5: Evolving Skies
Evolving Skies is still one of the best Pokemon booster boxes to invest in. There, I said it.
Based on the data analysis blog I linked earlier, I still have confidence in Evolving Skies as an investment vehicle. The set is the best of the modern era. Even at almost 14x MSRP, I still believe you will receive a better ROI on this box in the next 3-5 years compared to many sets in the SV era.

A Reminder:
Remember, these Pokemon booster box investments are just my opinion. The data tells us the best sets with the best cards often outperform. My recommendations this month reflect this principle. If you wish to buy a cheaper box like Paradox Rift, that is fine, but do not expect a set that weak to compete long-term against some of these giants.
