A Pokemon booster box investment isn’t something to overthink. For as long as Pokemon has been around, their top products have consistently given investors strong returns. That said, there are clear favourites that perform better than the average box. We also need to consider that the time we buy our boxes plays a large role in our expected ROI.

1: Evolving Skies
Get used to seeing this box. Evolving Skies is a great Pokemon booster box investment. Considering Team Up is pushing $9000 per box and Phantom Forces is $11,000, it’s reasonable to assume Evolving Skies has a long way to run.
There is also an ever-shrinking supply on the market. As of last week, only 23 booster boxes were listed below $2500 on eBay North America.

2: Lost Origin
Similar to Evolving Skies, Lost Origin is still a great Pokemon booster box investment. Despite a lack of mid-tier depth, the top chase, Giratina V, is heavily desired. Combine that with some decent supporting characters and you have a set that will eventually eclipse $1000 per box.
Lost Origin is also a box with a dwindling supply on the secondary market. Although not as rare as Evolving Skies, sales data suggests this box is on its way back to $600 shortly.

3: Fusion Strike
Fusion Strike, another set that was slept on far too long. It’s now universally agreed that Fusion Strike is the second best booster box set from the SWSH era. Although the set was pushing $800 earlier this year, you can now find this box around $725. However, I do not believe that will last long. From tracking Fusion Strike in my market spreadsheet, it’s clear the supply is nearing critical levels. When I checked earlier this week, there were only 2 booster boxes listed below $800.
This will be the final SWSH entry on this month’s list, but you could also make strong arguments for Brilliant Stars and Chilling Reign to be on this list.

4: Temporal Forces
Temporal Forces, a potential curve ball on the list.
I know Temporal Forces is not the best set from the SV era, but it’s a solid mid-tier set.
What’s more, it’s one of the cheaper boxes still readily available on the market, and the cheapest I can find in Canada from the SV era.
Combine the cheaper entry point with a respectable amount of depth in the IRs/SIRs and you have potential for solid returns over the next few years.

5: Surging Sparks
You all know by now I am a fan of Surging Sparks. For me, it is the second best booster box set from the SV era behind Destined Rivals.
Although we have been getting more restocks of Surging Sparks, those restocks are coming in the form of booster bundles and ETBs, not booster boxes. As such, we have already seen Surging booster boxes run back to $240. I have a feeling they will continue running towards $300 to close out the year if we don’t get another restock.
