One Piece Romance Dawn was the first set released by Bandai in December 2022 that introduced the One Piece TCG to the World. The box has seen massive growth over the past 2 1/2 years. However, even with a $1400 price tag on TCGPlayer, I still believe there is potential for Romance Dawn moving forward. Here is why:

Key Points to Understand:
- Two different types of the Romance Dawn booster box
- Boxes with blue bottoms (original print wave)
- Boxes with white bottoms (second print wave)
- Blue bottom booster boxes can contain pre-errata cards
The “1st Edition” Effect
For the purpose of this blog, I will be talking solely about the blue bottom boxes, not the white bottom boxes from the second print wave.
The Romance Dawn booster box will always be viewed as the 1st edition box. However, only some of the boxes contain the more desirable cards. The booster boxes with blue bottoms were part of the original print wave. Some of these cards, including the Nami and Trafalgar Law parallels, contained text that was altered in future print runs of the set.
As such, many of these pre-errata cards are incredibly desirable for collectors and investors alike.

Obviously, the cards are not labeled 1st edition, but being the original released set, it will have that affect on collectors and investors.
Out of Print
One Piece Romance Dawn booster boxes are, for all intents and purposes, out of print.
The first 4 sets of One Piece will rotate out next year, meaning they won’t be tournament legal. This normally suggests Bandai will not be printing more booster boxes of these sets.
That said, even if they decide to reprint more Romance Dawn booster boxes, they won’t reprint more blue bottom boxes. This is because those boxes contained the error cards that Bandai has since corrected.
Every single day, there are less One Piece Romance Dawn booster boxes with blue bottoms on the market. Every day they are rarer. And every time a box gets opened, the remaining boxes become more sought after.
Although Romance Dawn was not a box included in my original post about great One Piece booster box investments, it is a solid option for investors with deeper pockets and the belief in the IP for the longterm.
Respectable Depth
Although Romance Dawn is not the deepest set Bandai has created, it has many desirable cards. Some of these cards we have already discussed, such as the pre-errata Nami and Trafalgar Law. However, the set also contains many other popular characters including Shanks (Manga), Luffy, and Zoro.

Conclusion
A Romance Dawn booster box is a great investment. I would not recommend it for every investor, but for investors with deeper pockets and a long term vision of the TCG, it is a great option.
